Configuring Audit

Audit Trail monitors and records changes in a system, providing clear visibility, accountability, and a history of user actions for compliance and troubleshooting.

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access Settings , Can edit Settings, Can edit Audit Management and Can access Feature options permissions. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

  1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Settings and Users - Settings:

  2. The Settings screen displays, select Audit management which then displays on the right-hand side of the screen:

  3. Complete as required:

    • Enable Audit Trail - Off by default. When On , records configuration and security relevant user actions into the audit log.

      Note - Only available when the Auditor Lite option is enabled from the Feature Options. See Configuring Feature Options for further details.

    • Requires Signing - Off by default. When On , the users need to re enter their password when they perform any changes in the device.

    • Requires Note - Off by default. When On , the users can add note when the user perform any changes in the device.

      Tip - Note added is considered as the note provided by the logged in user

    • Requires Authorization - Off by default. When On , after signing, a different user must enter their username and password to approve the action.

      Note - Requires Signing, Requires Note and Requires Authorization is only available when the Auditor Full/ 21CFRPart11 option is enabled from the Feature Options and the user must have Can sign changes, Can add Audit note and Can authorize permissions. See Role Permissions for further details.
      Note - Enable Auditor Lite, Auditor Full, or both. Auditor Full includes Auditor Lite features plus signing and authorization. If both are enabled, only one audit trail mode is used at a time, based on the settings.

  4. Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

    Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
    5. Note - Audit trail lite records Changes to configuration settings. Operator actions like acknowledging alarms. User events such as login, logout, and language changes.
